Slipcovers are a great alternative to changing up your furniture, instead of reupholstering it. It also gives you the option of washing them, if you buy the right fabric. But that is a discussion for another day. In this post I just want to show you some before and after pictures of slipcovers.
A barrel back chair, before and after. The shape of the Chair makes it a challenge, and the fabric was also a challenge but in the end you get a beautiful chair, that looks like it has been reupholstered.
Another plain brown chair that the customer wanted more of a Shabby Chic look to and chose and beautiful floral fabric to start with.
Here is an older chair that is in a dated floral and tufting.
Lets update it with a newer, fresher fabric and no more tufting.
Now to Sofa Slipcovers!
A sofa before in a red and yellow cording slipcover, customer wanted a more neutral look, in a white slipcover. At the time I took these pictures my camera wasn’t working right.(or I wasn’t working it right) so the pictures are a bit fuzzy, and then I decided to try to get artistic with the after photo. So sorry about that!
Another example of a change-up!
This job actually had two identical sofas in this lovely green fabric, but the client was changing up everything in the living room and went with a large black floral slipcover. Once again you have to really look at it to realize that it is a slipcover.
This chair was again in a dated floral and had a gathered skirt. The customer wanted to change the look completely by getting a more elegant fabric and giving it a straight skirt with pleats at the corners. The outcome is more up to date slipcover for a more elegant look.
So that is just a few of the examples of how you can change your old worn out or dated furniture into something new and fresh!
P.S. Please subscribe to my blog, I have added another way to subscribe on the side. Thanks!
