Well I am on vacation this week, so no sewing going on. I will try to journal our vacation instead. If you don’t know our family very well, we are pretty adventuresome. This vacation is actually going to be somewhat tamer then some of the others. This year we are going to the Grand Canyon and then on to Zion National Park and the Narrows and finish up with a tour of Kansas State in Salina Kansas, of their Aviation School for Ian.
We are car camping part of the time and staying in hotels part of the time. Another change this year is Sydney our oldest daughter, who is 21 now, is not going with us.(She does not enjoy camping!) So we invited Hannah’s best friend Becca to join us.
We started loading up the van this morning around 6:00 a.m.
We had so much stuff, that we had to pack it on top, in the back and on the back!.
The crew loading up!
On the Road!
Sunset just as we passed into New Mexico.
End of the day, 13 hours in the car with 3 teenagers, a couple of stops to eat, and a couple of stops for gas, made for a long day. Saw some of the Tornado damage in Oklahoma City, lots of wind mills, Cadillacs buried in the sand, and some beautiful Indian Paintbrush Flowers, but Mark wouldn’t stop to let us take a picture. 🙁 So I borrowed one!
We ended the day in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Tomorrow we drive to Flagstaff!
