Before I leave for my trip to the Sewing and Upholstery Retreat, I wanted to show you one more project that we installed a few weeks ago. This is one that we did with Heather Hannick Designs and it was a big one, 20′ up in the air.
“Mark just loves these jobs! ” said sarcastically! We did this one after work in the evening and didn’t get done until 11:30. He said no more high installs in the evenings and I agree.
The treatment was one width panels on 3 medallions with a swag overlay. We had several obstacles to work around, there were bookshelves on one side and a door on the other wall.
But once it was up and finished the results were beautiful! It added elegance and warmth to the room. Heather’s client was very happy with the end results.
A view from the upstairs!
The swags were 15″ x 32″, and I had never made any with those dimensions, so once again I had my pattern fairy make me a pattern for them. And it made my life so much easier!
The end results were great!
Now on to a little bit of our life!
The end of Summer is here and Fall has begun, and everyone has a post about Fall decorating and stuff, but here are some pictures Sydney and Mark took of some of the end of Summer stuff!
This is one of the flowers on our back deck, giving us its last hurrah.
We all went to Buffalo last weekend, and this a picture from the front yard of the house at my dad’s, or the Farm. The Farm has been in the family for over 100 years and was originally surveyed by Daniel Boone’s son! We go down every so often to visit family.
There was a Sunflower field right outside of Buffalo, MO and Mark and Sydney went in and took some pictures.
Sydney has started doing this as a small business, so far no real customers, but she has a real good time doing it! Here is a link to her Facebook page, SLY Photography.

And last but not least, Ian traded for his 3rd Dirt Bike, 4th Motorcycle! This time I think he traded up! 🙂 He rode it all over the farm and put it to the test.
Now I am off to my conference, and after Mark and I have a cabin in Gatlinburg for a few days and are going to do some hiking in the Smokey Mountains. I have been there many times but never in the fall. Will try to blog about the conference and the Smokies, if I have internet. Thanks for stopping by!
