So today I did a quick easy project and thought I would share it with you. A couple of weekends ago I picked up several pieces of furniture to re-upholster and slipcover. One of them was this ottoman, and the client has a stash of fabric so as we were loading a loveseat to re-upholster and a wingback chair to slipcover, she said, why don’t we just add this one too! So I said ok! Today I was waiting for a delivery to come before I could finish up another project, so I decided to work on the ottoman, knowing it wouldn’t take to long.
I decided on a simple style and started with just laying the fabric over it and working on the corners. The client did not want a skirt, and I also needed a way to hold it on.
I pinned in the corner pleats and then basted them. Next I made string ties and turned up the length. Then it was just hemming and sewing in the ties. I decided to add buttons at each pleat, just to add a finishing touch.
I think it turned out rather nice, just a simple cover, that doesn’t take away from the beautiful legs!
I am still waiting on my delivery, but hopefully it will be here soon. UPS is famous for delivery late here!
Thanks for stopping by!
Would love to hear from you!
